Chingford Radio Cars

Leaflet Distribution Case Study

ChingfordRadioCars

Have your own ideas and goals and above all offer a consistently good quality service – a fool proof recipe for business success, according to Steven Trotman.

Three decades ago Steven’s father David Trotman, was looking for a flexible business to provide for and work around his young family. He established taxi company Chingford Radio Cars, and as his family grew and matured so did his business.
Nine years ago, at the age of 19 Steven Trotman joined the family firm. Frustrated at being required to have two years experience to start his then chosen career Steven left his university course. Dad David offered him the two years experience he needed; they established a good working relationship and Steven never looked back. Having worked in partnership for many years and approaching retirement age, David is now looking to take more of a backseat and leave day to day business operations in Steven’s capable hands, whilst they both focus strategically on how to steer the business forward.

In the last ten years, their fleet and staff tally has tripled. Vehicles range from cars and people carriers to vans of varying carrying capacities. Regular customers travel safe in the knowledge that Chingford Radio Cars have a nice modern décor to maximize their passenger comfort, are well maintained and the drivers have passed stringent requirements and strict police checks. Steven Trotman says; “car drivers may leave our industry, they don’t leave our company. We never advertise for staff, our drivers come through solid recommendation.

Chingford prides itself at being able to efficiently take anything and anyone from A to B, from courier work for printers to passenger movement between home and hospital for the NHS. Steven comments; “We use the latest technology to manage our jobs and on-going contracts. It is rewarding to be helping the local community.”

Finding local teenagers too unreliable to deliver their leaflets Steven sought a proper distribution firm and went onto the DOR-2-DOR website. Steven says; “since working with Clinton and Libby from DOR-2-DOR Ilford; wow, we have not looked back. The volume they get out in short space of time is impressive, we tried distribution in local newspapers but we get a better response from DOR-2-DOR.” DOR-2-DOR has now been running leaflet campaigns for David and Steven for over three years.

What were you looking to achieve with your leaflet campaign?
“We wanted to raise awareness and grow our loyal customer base.”

What format is the leaflet and who designed and printed it?
“Chingford Radio Cars use a business card sized flyer. Handy for popping into a purse or on a notice board for when you need a cab fast.”

What areas did your campaign cover?
“DOR-2-DOR distributes cards for us on a weekly basis within areas in and surrounding Waltham Forest.”

What results did you see?
“There has been a noticeable increase in work since we started using DOR-2-DOR; many of these new customers now use us repeatedly.”

Would you recommend DOR-2-DOR?
“I would recommend DOR-2-DOR without a shadow of a doubt. Clinton and Libby are down to earth, they keep in contact, and they make sure the job they do for me is done properly. I know when they have distributed to an area because our job count immediately goes up.”
